Sports Betting Markets: What You Can Bet On
A market is just the outcome you back within an event. Knowing the main markets lets you bet with confidence beyond the obvious match winner.
Match result (1X2 and moneyline)
The simplest market: back the home win, draw or away win (1X2), or in two-way sports the moneyline. A double chance bet covers two of the three outcomes for a lower price.
Handicap betting
A handicap levels an uneven contest. European (three-way) and Asian handicaps remove the draw or split the stake, which can add value on a clear favourite.
Over/under
Bet on the combined total of goals, points or runs being over or under a line set by the operator, regardless of who wins.
Both teams to score and specials
BTTS pays if each side scores. Player and special markets cover things like first goalscorer, cards, corners and other in-game events.
Outrights and futures
Outrights bet on a season or tournament, such as the league winner, decided weeks or months ahead. Combine markets across matches in an accumulator, or bet as play unfolds with in-play betting.
Knowing the markets helps you find better prices. Begin with 1X2 and totals, then add handicaps and specials over time. Check the odds in our odds explained guide.
